Almaden Resident Sports Signups and Volunteering

Sign your child up now for upcoming sports seasons

Signups for upcoming sports teams around the Almaden Valley area have already begun. If you have a child interested in softball or lacrosse, reserve your spots now before they fill up.

1. South Valley Chiefs Lacrosse

Do you have children aged 9 through high school? Are they interested in learning or playing lacrosse. If so, you should look into South Valley Lacrosse. It is a volunteer organization designed to promote the sport of lacrosse. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join. It’s a great chance to learn a new sport, be part of a team, get some exercise, and meet new friends.

2. Almaden Valley Girls Softball League

Do you have a daughter 16 and younger who enjoys playing softball? If so, signups have already begun for the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League. If you register before December 15, you will get a $20 per player “early bird discount.” If you have time, the league needs volunteer coaches to help make this another successful season. Plus, volunteering is always a rewarding experience.

Speaking of volunteering, Gifts for Teens still needs help to assemble gift bags for low-income and homeless teenagers in the South Bay. Just a few hours of your time may really make this season something to remember for an underprivileged teenager. Contact Kathy at kathy@gifts4teens.org if you can work a three-hour shift. Assembly will take place Via Valiente Shopping Plaza. Help is needed through December 13.
